• Dark Gray Links: No match yet—these two words do not make a complete sentence.
• Silver Links: A good statement, but it's at the wrong point on the chain.
• Gold Links: The optimal combination and placement in the finished chain.
• When each link flashes gold, the puzzle is completed, and the chain is finished.
