Any web browser can be used to play Letter Boxed, a simple word game. It's not too hard or too easy because you have to use logic, plan, and remember. In each puzzle, there are 12 different letters around a box. All you have to do to make words is put those letters together.
The trick is that each word after the first one must start with the same letter that ended the word before it. This means that if you start with the word "finder," the next word you use must start with the letter "R." Then keep going until you've used at least one of each of the 12 letters. You can use each letter five times.
How to Join In
You now know what the NYT Inbox is mostly for. So, let's look at how you'll get there by looking at the rules of the game. If you know the rules well, you have a better chance of winning the mailbox.
Start the game by finding your first word. Click or tap on a letter to choose it. The Mailbox game will then draw a line between the letters you picked.
You can't make a word by picking a letter from the same side of the box as the last letter you picked. You have to walk on one of the other three sides.
You can use the same letter more than once in a word if you want to.
A word can be any length, but it has to have at least three letters.
For every word you find, the first letter of the next word you make must be the last letter of the previous word.
You have to finish the box in less than five turns. You may realize you can't make it when you get to the fourth or fifth turn. If you get there, press the "Clear" button several times under the puzzle box. On a computer, you can do the same thing by pressing the "backspace" key.
If you press that button, the last letter you played will be erased. But if you keep typing, the last word will start to disappear. This means you can go back in time as many times as you want. You might try your best to get back to where you started (or boxy).
